As the title suggests that was all the action last night
It suddenly got very cold after writing last night’s post, and the temperature plummeted to minus 5C.
I managed to knock up a tasty meal, with my dwindling food supplies. This consisted of some potatoes, brussel sprouts, a jar of Lloyd Grossman’s Balti sauce, and a tin of tuna. It was actually very nice, although it does not sound that appetising! It was perfect winter fodder I suppose, and I ate it whilst watching ‘Jack Ass’ volume 3! The sprouts incidentally are left over from xmas, and unlike most people, I actually like them. The best way to cook sprouts!!!!, is to parboil them, cut them in half, and stir fry them with onions and lardons (pieces) of bacon. Believe me, cook them that way next xmas!
I fell asleep at around 10pm and was having a dream, about catching a carp, surprise surprise! Then a single beep, woke me from that dream at 12.30am! Unfortunately nothing came of it, but it had me up for the next hour drinking tea, and expectantly waiting for something to happen. I would have loved to have started today’s post by saying “last night I caught a carp”, but as most of you will know, if the fish are not feeding, or are not present; all you can do is sit and wait. Why don’t I move? I don’t do moving, unless I know it is absolutely necessary. For me it consists of an almighty chore, and I am happy to sit and wait, keeping myself amused and entertained in the meantime. There may be the odd fish, coming out elsewhere around the lake, but I personally think Cassien has gone into hibernation for a short while. Trust me, you will be the first to know, when my first carp, since starting my blog, is landed! When I fished for four months last year, I had three long spells, with no activity, from my swim, and that was when the overall temperature and weather was much kinder. It just happens sometimes.
I have been checking the blog statistics and since this blog went live three days ago, there have been over 3000 visitors. I know some of you are coming back each day to check on my progress, and I do hope you continue to do so. It is very much appreciated. I hope to continue writing this blog for a few years, and when I catch my first 30kg carp, I want you to be there too!

Thank you!
Good news today is, after two hours, I have finally got my van out of the mud! I had to jack it up several times, and place logs under the wheels, to get it moving. I now gladly have transport again when it is needed this week to pick up my bivvy, and go to the supermarket.

My chariot is free!

It's not a bad view!
Thanks for reading my blog, and see you very soon.
Jake
