Yeah I have had cat ice on the lake the last two mornings but it will take alot to freeze this lake!! Keep reading mate and all the best for the fishing.

I am on top form George. Not long left at the first lake but going to enjoy it to the end. Still confident of one more carp and when it happens…it happens. Part two brings new challenges and more carp. Comfortable fishing is my saviour in the winter and the roaring fire warms my heartbeat! The dogs and I are happy, I have just been to stock up on my food and theirs…Happy days indeed!

I am happy where I am my friend. The lake is very cold, the water is 4 degrees, a few other anglers have been fishing on the lake with no success. I don’t want to move because I don’t think it will make any difference at this time of year, I have a good camp, and I am comfortable. This is more important to me and the dogs at this time of year. The carp are just a bonus – whatever size they are.

Dear Jack,
i think you could do a movement to others spots…west coast with sunnied margins in shallow water and high depth and snags in medium range (max 200m).
I know you understand the spots i’m talking about…
Single 24 or 20 snowman to prevent big roaches…

My Italian Job continues till July. I am fishing a few lakes after this one that will take me towards Rome. I won’t be returning to Cassien for a couple of years Tom. All I can say about the west arm is get in Aviron if you can or Kevin Ellis, Mathildha etc…as far down to the reserve as you can be really. Good Luck.
