>My Articles
Since I left the UK in Feb 08′ much has happened, and I have been blessed by catching many big fish from some difficult venues. Fishing is not just about the fish though. For myself, it is more about actually just being there, taking in the sights, the wildlife, meeting great people (and occasionally some strange ones), and witnessing the other events that take place whilst you fish. The whole picture!
It is this that I try and capture in my articles, trying to steer clear of too much technical, but focusing on the events that happen during my sessions. The highs and the lows, with hopefully the odd ‘monster’ carp, thrown in for good measure!

I have been given an ongoing series with International Carper. This is featured at the back of the Carpworld magazine. They are two separate magazines published together for the angler’s convenience and are published by Angling Publications. I have been talking to Martin Ford since I left the UK in Feb 08′ and my first story was published in the October issue 60.
My series is entitled ‘No Fixed Abode’ and it literally covers my exciting journey from A to B. I quote Martin Ford:
“If you have not read any of Jake’s articles, then I strongly urge you to do so, as it is a great example of adventure angling in a modern age.”
Part 60 and 61 covers Lac de St.Cassien in two parts. Lago di Pusiano is written about in two parts in 62 &64. Lac de la Liez was featured in issue 63. The German Mosel is my next story to be published issue 65, due out in March. My fabulous session on the French Moselle will be covered in the April copy of International Carper. And it’s back to Cassien for a two part special; American Beach in the May issue and Back to Aviron in June’s copy. It’s two great magazines in one big read. Don’t miss it!
