Hi Jake just enjoyed reading about your fishing on the sierra brava , brilliant reading as usual as with all your adventures I feel like I am there on the bank too !!! Your enthusiasm and dedication is fantastic and thanks for the tips on using a marker float this is a tactic which is relatively new to me and one simple mistake I have discovered since reading your advice is to wind down to the lead before clipping up so which I think would cause my lines to run through my baited areas instead of in front so thanks for giving me something to work on !! Thanks again Leigh Herbert

I think the only way to 'get noticed' these days, with the thousands of carp anglers who participate, in the UK alone, is you have to be something pretty special, taking waters apart season after season, catching the big fish, and backing it all up with good photography, and some captivating words if you can write. To be really blunt, it is a very hard place to get to, as there are so many anglers who want recognition these days, some deserving, some not!
I suppose in a nutshell, if you deserve it, you will get it in the long run; but as always I will say, just enjoy your fishing as that is far more important, and what will be, will be, my friend! Some people work in the industry, magazines, shops, for manufacturers, and that can be a good compromise for some, as it is always a good platform into other opportunities. All the best.

My advice as always is this... Firstly - why do you want to get sponsored? Is being sponsored going to make you a better angler or do you just want free products? Do you write, do you catch carp consistently? Are you in the magazines often? If the answer to those three questions is yes, then I am sure a company will notice you eventually and approach you. Personally - I would just enjoy your fishing Jack. That is far more important. I had lots of sponsors because I was fishing non-stop and travelling around Europe for three years. But being sponsored isn't all it's cracked up to be, and personally I enjoy my fishing more, now I don't have involvement with several of them.

All the best.

maybe can u help me with this mesage... I looking for one personal sponsor.. I u can give me some idea's...thanks.

Dear sir,
My name is Dan Dochia and I will represent Romania to “ 2009 World Carp Championship” . The competitions will take place in France, on “ Lac de l’Uby “ between 19 and 25 October 2009 . (www.gncarpe.com). Romanian national delegations is composed of 3 teams (by 2 persons) and one team for reserve. I will be in first 3 teams.
I looking for personal sponsorship for this competition. I don’t want money – for me sponsorship means just out door / fishing equipments (clothers, shoes, carp fishing equipments, bivvy, etc) .
If your company is interested for this, please contact me.
Best regards,
Dan Dochia
